Meet Andell K. Brown, ESQ.

Attorney Andell K. Brown is a focus-driven trial attorney who focuses his legal career in the areas of criminal law, including federal crimes.

Andell began his career in 2005 with the Miami Dade Public Defender’s Office. As a Public Defender, Andell tried over 100 cases and gained invaluable trial experience. Additionally, Andell gained legal knowledge in the Miami Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel.

After leaving the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, Andell began his journey of creating more direct access to serving those in need of legal assistance. He began his solo practice in the fall of 2008. Since then, Andell has worked tirelessly to provide legal counsel for his clients.

Andell received his Juris Doctorate from the prestigious Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. He is also a proud alum of Oakwood University, a prominent historically Black College & University (HBCU) situated in the heart of Huntsville, Alabama. Andell is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts and Federal Courts.

BIOGRAPHY

Attorney Andell Brown is a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York City, New York [Juris Doctorate, May 2005 – Concentration: General Litigation]. He is a proud alumnus of Oakwood University (Class of 2002), where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Political Science.

A Member in Good Standing of the Florida Bar, Attorney Brown is admitted to practice in the Southern, Middle, and Northern District Courts of the United States Federal Court in Florida. He began his legal career in 2005 as an Assistant Public Defender under the administration of Bennett H. Brummer in Miami, Florida. With over a decade of experience handling complex and high-profile criminal and civil cases, Attorney Brown has established a reputation as one of Florida’s premier trial attorneys.

 

He brings extensive expertise in both jury and non-jury trials, representing clients in matters ranging from DUIs and juvenile offenses to serious state and federal felonies. His fearless advocacy, legal precision, and commitment to justice have earned him the trust of clients across Florida and beyond.

 

Attorney Brown has received numerous accolades throughout his career. He was named a Top 40 Under 40 Leader by Legacy Magazine (Miami Herald, 2013), received the Best Advocate Award from The Defender College (2007), and was nationally recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 Attorney by the National Black Lawyers (2016). He has also been recognized as one of the Top 10 Criminal Defense Attorneys Under 40 in Florida by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys.

A respected voice in both legal and media circles, Attorney Brown has appeared in Time Magazine, The Miami Herald, National Public Radio, The Sun Sentinel, and on major television networks including ABC, FOX News, CNN, HLN, and MSNBC. He serves as a recurring legal analyst on TV One’s acclaimed true crime series Fatal Attraction, Sins of the City, and For My Man, where he provides expert legal commentary on high-profile cases and emotionally charged stories that have impacted communities nationwide.

 

Attorney Brown is also a Trial Analyst for the Law & Crime Network, the only 24/7 live trial network, and is often called upon to provide legal insight on pivotal moments in national and international affairs—from Ferguson and Baltimore to social justice movements around the world.

 

In recognition of his impact and leadership, he was named a BME Genius Fellow in 2018 for his advocacy within communities of color and honored in Spectrum Magazine (2019) as one of 100 Famous African Americans and Seventh-day Adventists. He was also recognized by The Miami Times as part of the 2022 Black History Month History Makers class.

 

Most recently, Attorney Brown was named one of Miami’s Most Powerful & Influential Black Business Leaders for 2025 by Legacy Magazine.

He remains an active member of the National Black Lawyers, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association, and other distinguished legal organizations.
